Sioux Falls is a great community. It's an on the way place that people actually fall in love with. You will be in love with this place as there is tourist attractions galore for both kids and adults. Sioux Falls is truly surprising. To sum it up, it is family fun, beautiful, serene, genuine, approachable, balanced, chill, Vibrant, Endless Pure energy and entertainment Art. That's the word! Downtown Sioux Falls is on fire. Every week you read that there's something new popping up and something that hasn't been there before.
Great Restaurants and Brewing Companies
Hungry? Looking for a place to eat out or place to go for date nigh? There are many romantic restaurants including Minerva's, Carnaval Brazilian Grill and Parker's Bistro which will set the scene. One of the best small locations in downtown Sioux Falls is Mama's Ladas. You will love the enchiladas. The chips are great and the salsa's amazing. They have great root beer in their cooler. If you're with your friends and family on the weekend, you need to stop at Prairie Berry Eastbank and try the mashed potato and bacon pizza which is amazing! If it's more of a night out, more of kind of dinner experience, Parker's is amazing! Everything that you want kind of local restaurant to be and also really amazing food. And then walking down Phillips avenue you have CH Patisserie, which is a Food Network star. If you are thirsty you will find more than one brewing company to choose from. WoodGrain Brewing Co. Fernson Brewing Company and Hydra Beer Company.
Unique Shops, Art Galleries and Sport Venues
There's the Pavilion with special events and attractions each week worth checking out. Or maybe it's something as simple as drinking coffee and looking up and seeing someone's art work on display. There is a Sculpture Walk which is year round and beautiful. When you do the sculpture walk in Sioux Falls, you will see each piece one is so different. Sioux Falls SD has got a lot of things going on. Visit the Denny Sanford Premier Center where you can often can get to see the Springsteens and the Stones and the Who. There is The District, which is a 1500 seat venue that offers a huge, wide variety of music. The Broadway performances that come here are just some of the most phenomenal things to come see. Brings me back to New York. The Visual Arts Center has exhibitions that are national level tours.
Oscar Howe, Andy Warhol and Rodin to name a few. No town this size brings Rodin to their cultural center. Its doesn't happen. Grab a bite, Go to Monks, go catch a show. That's what I would do. If you're shopping, go to Zandbroz and Urban Archeology because you never know what you're going to find in either location. You don't know what Zandbroz is until you go inside. There's some really cool stuff. There's some local art, some local authors and more. The last couple years has seen an explosion of makers 's goods. Us, obviously is one but there's also Unlgued. There's Urban Archeology which is kind of the funky, American pickers. It's a fascinating place. You will love going to the Sioux Falls Skyforce games. The environment that you get to watch these games in is at the Sanford Pentagon. There's not a bad seat in there. If you like hockey you will have a blast at Stampede games.
In the summer you can go to the Canaries game where the kids can just enjoy the game. It's really affordable. Love history? Check out the USS South Dakota battleship memorial. Worth the visit and you will learn something new. There are two mini golf attractions if you love to get a round in. When everyone else in the US celebrates Columbus Day, in South Dakota they celebrate Native American Day.
Bike Trails, Parks and The Zoo
In Sioux Falls, they have one of the best park systems I think in the Midwest. There are over a dozen public parks but the best one is Falls Park which runs the Big Sioux River.There are a ton of different opportunities for mega family fun. At the Outdoor Campus, there are hundreds of free classes. In the winter time, you can do ice fishing, cross country skiing and some snow shoeing. The outdoor campus is a must visit for anyone. You must also go to the Sertoma Butterfly House. Walking in and being able to touch the sting rays, the star fish, just watching the butterflies fly around is relaxing. Trying to see if they'll land on you. That is a big hit for little kids too.
Twenty-two miles of uninterrupted biking. Don't forget the Great Plains Zoo and the Delbridge Museum of Natural History With over 150 animals, species and activities unlike any other zoo. If you like water and streams check out the Big Sioux River. There are also 6 water parks in Sioux Falls like Wild Water West and Catfish Bay Greatest Show On H2O. Love biking? The best kept secret in Sioux Falls is the bike trails. This bike trail completely encompasses the city. The Sioux Falls bike trails go around in a full circle. You can jump on a trail and you can ride twenty miles and not have to worry about traffic.The Sioux Falls bike trails are super fun rides and great exercise! There is Great Bear ski valley park which you can go skiing. You can actually see the city, a really great view of the city. To have the variety of restaurants, and entertainment, and music, and retailers. That's why Sioux Falls is great! The attractions in Sioux Falls keep going and going. Sioux Falls is located right on I-90 and 29 which is basically the Heart of America. It's a good place to be. There's so many things to see and do for people of all ages and of all interests.
