I take this time to thank a woman I have not yet met except over the phone. Nancy Nevins is a Re/Max owner/broker in Waukee, Iowa who knows how to work and works to make things happen. I had the honor to meet Nancy as I needed to refer a client with a home to sell in her area. I went through our Re/Max referral system and picked Nancy as a result of what I read about her and her husband's business. Having done my homework (checking through Active Rain and sending some specific emails to AR people in that area and not getting a response) made it possible for me to call Nancy direct.
After the first discussion and Nancy saying she would happily accept a referral, especially as she knew the area well, we decided to do the paperwork. I emailed Nancy with the information about the clients and their home, Nancy went to work immediately. I let the clients know that I had found the best agent for them to work with as they had requested and they said they were leaving the next Thursday to meet with her. We talked and I let her know thye were coming.
A little over a week later, having not heard how things had gone with the clients, Nancy and I talked only to find out that the clients had probably only used Nancy to get competitive pricing and had chosen another agent from another company. Nancy had spent time getting ready for them, taking pictures of the home, CMA for the area, made up presentation package, etc. only to find out she had wasted her time over Mother's Day weekend.
So, I take this time to formally say to Nancy how sorry for the way things occured. I also want to say to our family here that if anyone knows Nancy or the area, give Nancy a call to say thank you for her work and invite her to join Active Rain. She is our kind of people. Nancy has not shown anything that might be construed unhappiness with what happened. She conducted herself completely professionally. Nancy is the kind of professional we need to assist in keeping Active Rain a viable source to search out.
