The Brando Estate on Maui is back on the market, and listed with Hawaii Life Real Estate.
A little of the back story: Marlon Brando bought this 26.7 acre property when it was raw land, because he could appreciate the privacy and beauty of this north shore location. (Haiku Maui is a great place to live for those who don't care for the city life, or gated subdivisions with rules and regulations.) In 1997 he sold the land to a couple from Alaska and they built this 2-story pole home. As time passed and the couple split up, they put their home on the market and sold it in 2016 to a California man who brought the house and land back to life after years of neglect. He cleared away a lot of the overgrowth, and opened up some nice building sites with great views. The driveway was changed to make it easier to access the house and garage.
Well guess what? 480 Puniawa can now be yours! The current owner absolutely loves living here, in his off-the-grid paradise, but family matters are calling him back to CA.
Read more about this great Haiku listing here on the Hawaii Life Blog, where you can watch a movie trailer, and a 3 minute fly over video of the whole estate.

And remember, if it's an off-grid lifestyle that beckons you, you're in good hands with The Maui Hunter! (that's me) We've been enjoying our off-grid neighborhood for decades already, and have a pretty good understanding of what it takes to thrive here.
