This Activerain contest for February, to write about getting ready for the real estate challenges that face US (get that? US as in United States?) was different than any other year.
HOW DID I GET READY for 2018?
Although I had my marketing plan all laid out for 2018, there were some "moguls" that popped up here right at the beginning of the year which were HIGHLY unexpected.
Firstly, as my readers know, I go to Hawaii over the Holidays every year to visit with my family and which is also a good time to do some soul searching about the coming year. But then...
Mogul 1: BALLISTIC MISSILE ATTACK
I hate to keep bringing this up in my blogs, but it did screw with my mind. Have you ever been in a situation where you knew THIS MIGHT BE IT? Well, for a few minutes of that day on January 13 this was very real and it left an indelible lasting (so far) impression:
After seeing myself mentally as a "crispy critter", now, if there is something I feel strongly about doing in my life, I AM GOING TO DO IT.
Mogul 2: BROUGHT TO MY KNEES WITH THE FLU OR WHATEVER IT WAS.
Having "survived" the missile fiasco, I get back to California on January 16, and the next day it's all over for me for the next couple of weeks. Brought me to my knees. Felled. Sick as a dog. Nothing gross, just could not get up, food looked like the enemy.
Yep, whatever it was I had, I dropped 10+ lbs. from 115 to 104 lbs. off my 5'4" frame.)
Talk about being weak as a kitten!
But mentally I was not deterred.
This crazy year was not going to get me down.
Finally, FEBRUARY 1 WAS THE START OF 2018 FOR ME.
It still took me until the middle of the month until I was able to climb stairs and not puff, but that was ok. I have a terrific recliner chair that I brought to the office, filled my little office fridge with a whole bunch of high calorie goodies, and away I worked on my computer for hours on end.
AND YOU KNOW WHAT?
I closed 2 sales so far this month, assisting both buyer and seller.
Working on 1 offer as we speak, assisting both buyer and seller.
And am working with several buyers.
AND YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING YET
THIS WILL BE MY BEST YEAR EVER. I'm going for the GOLD.
Photo of my office chair; without it I couldn't have gotten through this month.
