I can only imagine what it's like to appraise in the Katrina ridden areas.  How is rebuild going? ... if much at all.

Sara,

The rebuilding is going good, but never fast enough. The parts of the city that are struggling to come back had problems long before the storm due to neglect. In some parts of the city this storm was helpful. Almost all of the housing projects are gone, which before the storm was a breeding ground for criminals. You should plan a trip down here, my wife and I would be happy to show you around. Just don't come in the summer the heat is unbearable. Everything is open for the most part. The French Quarter barely missed a beat with the storm.  The street cars are running and all of our great restaurants are open. Well I hope you can make it down here some day to see the progress.

I may just take you up on that!  We've been considering a cross country trip in our future and I've never been to New Orleans -

We have friends that are loyal to New Orleans and go back at least once a year.  They said they were heart broken the first year they went back, but it seems like theirs so much soul in that city you just can't stomp it.
