Excellent post by the exquisite and incomparable Carol Williams. A must-read for new agents, as well as veterans feeling in any way jaded. Remember why you started, rekindle that professional passion and excitement - and if I may add: "Lighting someone else's candle won't make yours any less bright!"
Thank you, again, Carol, for your continued kindness and unmatched wisdom!
"There is no such thing as an overnight success. Success is a result of clearly defined goals and a diligent daily routine."
I see a new batch of agents coming into the real estate trenches. Most newly licensed agents come into the business with rose-colored glasses on, not fully understanding the complexity of the business and the time and on-going education required to build a successful, sustainable, business.
There is no "silver bullet". If you want to hit your target income goals, affiliate with an office with good training and on-going support. Many say they do. Few actually do.
Then take another step. Find a mentor / coach to guide you in creating a comprehensive business plan and keep you accountable.
And, remember, in the words of the late great Zig Ziglar:
"You can get everything you want in life if you will just help other people get what they want."
Go into the business with a servants heart. You will probably find something more valuable than meeting your income goals. You will find you are leading a meaningful, fulfilling, life while just helping other people get what they want.
