This blog post was transcribed for $1!

How excited am I right now?

I’m heading to sleep and I’m using pen and paper to write this post. Sure I could use a laptop, but with all the IMs, twittering, Youtube, and Outlook (which checks email every 4 minutes) I get a whole bunch of nothing (blogging) done.

So the handwriting idea was great... but then I could never find a moment or 20 to write it out.

So how will I find time to type this all out?

Well the idea for transcribing handwritten posts came up at a recent NAR Mid Year blogger dinner, so I googled it on the spot.

And Whala, meet Sonia from Lexington on Craigslist. She types 90 words a minute and will transcribe a page for 50 cents (10 page minimum).

I hope my handwriting won’t be too sloppy and she doesn’t mind my tiny handwriting on a 8x17 legal paper.

Gotta get the best bank for your buck right?

This is a great idea for those who don't type quickly or get distracted by too many options once they get online.

Frank, 90 words a minute!!!! Holy crap Sonia. Sonia would never be able to read my writing. Heck I can't even read it myself most of the time. $.50 a page is a good deal though!!

Frankly Frank~ I think that could be a great idea, but a ten page minimum would be a problem....

Frank, cool.  Are you going to have Sonia type out your comments too?  Now if I can just hire a photographer who charges $0.50/house to take pictures for FranklyMLS then we'd be in business.

Vickie

10 pages, I just gave her 6, keep the change.

Susan,

I could try dictation, but my fiance might not like be talking into a mic for 1/2 an hour.

Brian,

You would think that if a high tech agent really went into 90 homes in 2 months that they would have a killer photo album. And yep, I'd pay him 50 cents per house! Jeff just got a $500k buyer from FranklyMLS

This is a GREAT employement concept!! I am about 80 wpm on a good day but blogging my own ideas can take me all over the world and back in one sweep, so transcribing is a way to still be in the mix and make some money! Of course, clientele would have to be extremely local...

Hmmm....

Tina,

Does that work for multi minute blogs? Or just short ones? How do they do it? Software, or people in india? Can you email them a WAV file with a recording? Oh how I would love that.

I can see it now! Recording conversations with clients (with permission) and just my side of course, and having a blog full of that.
