Steps to Picking the Right Referral Agent
It doesn't take long for a new agent to figure out that sending referrals to agents in other parts of the country can be a wonderful income source but only if the receiving agent can close the deal. There is much more involved than just randomly picking a name and hoping for the best. You want to make sure your referral is taken care of properly and it closes.
This contest is asking for you to share the steps you take to make the right fit. Where do you go to find agents in the referral area? How do you decide who is qualified and who's just has a pretty face with a lot of letters or words behind their names?
Do you rely on those agents you have personally met at conventions or through your franchise or professional networks? Does the sex of the agent matter? Does the age of the agent or time in the business matter? Do designations sway you in any way?
How much involvement do you have after the referral has been sent? Are updates on the progress important or do you just want to see the referral check at the end?
Do you have any secret tips that could help others do a better job matching the referral to the selected agent? What are you success rates on having your referrals closed?
I am asking you to be honest and tell us what is important to you. If you are not in real estate sales but in another business, imagine how you would go about referring a special person or family member to someone in another area needing the same type of service as you offer (even if you could serve them wherever they may go). If you are retired from the business, share how you think it should be done. Remember, Referrals Matter.
One entry per person. Post a link to your contest entry in the comment section below by the Deadline at Midnight on March 31, PDT. You will then receive 1500 points sometime in early April. There will also be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners for the ones that enlighten me the most. 1st Place will receive an extra 2000 points, 2nd Place will receive an additional 1500 points and 3rd Place will get a bonus of 1000 points.
Additionally, add a graphic or photo to spiff up your post and try to make your post at least 300 words. I have a feeling some of you will have a lot to say on the subject so this shouldn't be difficult to do.
We all want to learn, make money and when it comes to placing referrals we usually only get one chance to do it right the first time. This is one area we don't want a miss.
