What do you mean you can not sell homes in every state? Aren't you a Realtor? That was a real life question from a Manchester NH home owner that has been transferred across the country for work. I helped them sell their home, got them top dollar and sold it quickly.
When it came time to buy, they asked if I can help them buy in their new state. They were puzzled why I could not. Never mind it is 1000 something miles away, I am not licensed there. HOWEVER I can refer them to a great agent I know through the Active Rain Network. I can still answer their questions and make sure everything goes well for them.
They were more than happy with my choice. "The agent was just like me" they said. Attentive, personable and made buying easy.
In New Hampshire we are lucky to have a great deal of great jobs. With no income or sales tax, people are moving here from all over the United States. We have more people moving here than out of here.
The First question was "How do I choose an agent to refer my client to?" For me, my first choice is those who I already interact with. My next choice, is to search in the area, read their bio, read their blog and give them a call. I want them to know my client, know their needs and their wants. I want to know that they can and will service my client in the best way possible.
The Second question was "Why should anyone refer their clients to me?" I get a great deal of referrals from Active Rain. Many from people who I interact with every day. The majority are agents who sought an agent in NH and found my blog. They call me and ask me the questions I would want to ask them. I like to go over with them my idea of service, which is to offer the best personal and professional service I can.
The MOST IMPORTANT message is to share with every consumer that my philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.
