2017 Goes Down As 4th Highest Year In Home Sales For Salt Lake County!
The numbers are in and according to the Salt Lake Board of Realtors®, Salt Lake County home sales went down by 1% in 2017; that however didn't stop the past year from becoming the fourth highest level recorded for a single year. Only 2005, 2006 and 2016 rank higher than 2017 for residential sales.
Sales of single-family homes in Salt Lake County fell by 3% with 13,313 sales compared to the 13,659 sales recorded for 2016. On the other hand, the median price for single-family homes went up to $325,000, which is 10 percent higher than the previous year's $295,000.
And in what is the biggest year for multifamily sales, Salt Lake County recorded 4,516 units sold, up by 4 percent from 2016's 4,338 units sold.
2017's fourth quarter saw Clearfield and Tooele leading the top five cities for single-family home sales with 274 each, followed by Farr West at 239, Lehi with 214 and Eagle Mountain at 209. The same quarter also had the following five cities with most expensive median home prices: Alpine ($630,000), Eden ($533,400), Emigration ($530,000), Draper ($489,000) and Avenues ($484,355).
