Monthly mortgage payments will increase as rates and home prices increase. Also, the amount of the home you can qualify to buy will decrease as mortgage rates increase. Corelogic predicts a 4.8% appreciation in home prices in the next 12 months and Freddie Mac predicts a full percentage point increase in interest rates.
