I Have Sock Problems

You’re probably thinking the issue is about unmatched pairs…one getting lost in the dryer as they do…or holes in the heels or toes, or no clean socks to wear.

That’s not it at all.

Prostate Cancer socksI have a large collection of colorful socks that started about 5 years ago with gifts from my older daughter at Christmas, and the collection has grown, year by year.

Some are somewhat understated, while others are quite colorful, adding an intriguing contrast to jeans or dress slacks.

So here are my Sock Problems.

My wife was doing some Human Resources consulting for a well-known ad agency in San Diego a few years ago. One of the 3 principles recently started a company called Sock Problems.

Inequality socksSock Problems is a clever, San Diego-based company founded in 2017 that raises money for various organizations supporting a range charitable causes.

For example:

#SockInequality, #SockProstateCancer, #SockAutism, #SockBreastCancer, #SockRacism, #SockClimateChange

A percentage of revenue from every sock sold, 25% up to 50%, is provided to the charity partners supporting these causes, including the Movember Foundation (men’s health), The Rodney King Organization, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC), and San Diego Freedom Dogs (service dogs for wounded military).

Currently there are 10 different socks, and causes, each priced at $20. And shipping is free with 3 pairs or more!

Jeff,

Socks have long been the way many men declared their individuality when wearing corporate suit..  This is a great idea, and I love that it benefits various charities.  A

Jeff,  This such a good cause ... socks can be a lot of fun too.  I have many colorful fun socks.

I have never lost a sock in the dryer.  I will never understand that!

A most unique way to raise money for worthy causes, Jeff. Not muc of sock wearer, myself, but I have known any number of men who express their individuality with their socks and/or their ties. (Me, I do it with my handbags!)

I love having colorful socks and seeing others wear them, especially when it's a contrast to a more conservative look, say a business suit. I thought this was a cool company and expect they will create more causes.

Hi Kathleen Daniels  - it's funny what people say about 1 sock disappearing and blaming the dryer!!

I have probably 30 pairs of colorful socks. I'm not sure I even have ANY plain colored socks anymore.

I really liked what this company is doing and thought others would enjoy earing about it.

Thanks Francine Viola  - I was pretty impressed when my wife first told me about it. I had forgotten, and she just ordered me the socks in the photos!

Jeff, I have too many and finally had to let go of a few favs that have become rather "spare" on their bottoms. Different thicknesses are important here especially heading out to the barn in 25 degree temps to muck stalls and such. The rest are for fun and whimsy, like your first pair pictured in your sock selfie.

Love the simple idea that these nonprofits can gain some dollars by such a simple purchase. Good for you for promoting it, too.

Grant Schneider  - It would be easy to ownt hem all, given the number of designs at the moment. My guess is it will grown - the company is only 5 months old.

Hi Nina Hollander

I used to with ties when I was in the corporate world, but that was ages ago, and I don't wear a lot of ties these days. I love colorful socks...handbags, not to much. LOL. Sounds like you may have a collection!

Hi Jeff Dowler, what a great way to support these organizations. I wish I could figure out where that secret compartment is in the dryer. Sock heaven!
