Looking for Baby Dinosaurs in Phoenix!

Real Estate Agent with HomeSmart International AZ Broker BR030809000

Another Activerainer blogger, Sonja Patterson wrote a post today about a dinosaur event in her area - and that brought up a recent encounter I had regarding dinosaurs. Naturally I had to share it with all of you as it's such a cute story!

Most of you know I'm a avid hiker in the mountains behind our home. I also volunteer at the visitor center so I'm often helping folks navigate the trails and what to look for on their hike. And I also help many hikers with that 'confused look' on their face when I'm out hiking. I show them the way and reassure them if they get lost, somebody else will come along.

The other day I ran into a Grandma with 3 grand-kids from Canada. She had that 'confused look' so I showed her the way - and let her know I would see them on the other side as I was headed out the back trail and we'd meet again.

Looking for Baby Dinosaurs in Phoenix!

Sure enough we did meet ( which means she took the right trail) and the little girl didn't look happy one tiny bit!! I thought she was tired so I asked her. The Grandma says no she's not tired she's very afraid of snakes.  Well that's easy I said - there are no snakes out yet because it's way too cold for snakes, so no more worries, ok? But then I added......but you do need to be on the look out for baby dinosaurs!!! Of course the kids looked at me like I was crazy and their eyes got REAL BIG.  I told them about the caves just down the path....but that they didn't need to worry because it was baby dinosaurs only! I then asked the little girl if she believed me. NO!!! By then she was smiling! The little boy was quickly off on his way to find the caves and dinosaurs, of course, what little boy wouldn't.  Grandma says - Thank you SOOO much! And off they went to find baby dinosaurs & explore the little caves!

Moral of the story?  My dinosaur story is exactly what we do as real estate agents. We help our clients navigate the trails of buying a home, ease their fears and concerns and help them enjoy the process! Doesn't get much better than this, does it!

You are absolutely right.. a great analogy.  We even sometimes have a chuckle as a calming influence when we see those concerned looks on their faces... the baby dinosaurs of real estate.

As long as they are only baby dinosaurs ... that's okay. What a cute story. Good to know about the temps and snakes too.

Anna- what a cute story!!! As long as there are no snakes, then I'd gladly welcome the mini-dinosaurs.

Oh my gosh, what a CUTE story and a wonderful analogy too, Anna Banana! Funny but, my landscaper killed a copperhead last year in my yard after we found the one in our house and he was back last week to remove debris in the wooded area behind us. I told him at least he didn't have to worry about snakes right now! (Him or me!!)

It's always good when you can make someone smile and lend a helping hand. My children went through a dinosaur phase and have moved on for now, but I don't think my little people could resist a cave full of them.

Hi Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS, Broker, what a cute story. As long as they're baby dinosaurs, it's OK. If someone says the word snake, I'm already a mile down the road. Unfortunately, I see a lot of them in FL.

I LOVE this!  I know if I suggest "taking a walk" with the grandbabies they are probably not going to be interested so I always suggest going on a Hobgoblin hunt. They love it and have never refused the offer. We have so much fun. Even though it's just a regular walk, their imaginations take hold and it's an adventure.
