Golf Courses in Matthews NC
The Divide Golf Club
An 18-hole golf course designed by John Casell, The Divide opened in 1995. It was named The Divide because it extends into both the Mecklenburg and Union County areas of Matthews. It is a daily fee course that also offers memberships. The 19th Hole Grille in the clubhouse offers casual food for golfers or Shannamara residents. The Club has a number of tournaments for adult and junior leagues as well as lessons.
Emerald Lake Golf Club
Emerald Lake Golf Club is a semi-private, 18-hole course with memberships as well as daily play. The clubhouse was renovated recently to include a 5000 square foot ballroom, suites for wedding parties and a waterfront ceremony lawn with pergola. This rustic facility is called the View at Emerald Lake. It also includes a tavern where Emerald Lake residents can dine or have drinks on the outdoor patio.

Shannamara
Shannamara's approximately 700 homes surround The Divide golf course. You'll find homes in a variety of styles and sizes. The neighborhood is a great place to find ranch homes as well as larger homes with four and five bedrooms. Most of the homes are custom or semi-custom with upgraded features such as beautiful millwork, hardwood flooring, chef's kitchens and luxury bathrooms.
