Nina Hollander - This all sounds like so much fun! Your community is lucky to have the Walsh Kelley School of Irish Dance! What a treat for the students to learn the proper way to do the Irish Jig and other great dance moves. I think Charlotte is going to be very green and good for all on St. Paddy's Day!!!

Patricia Feager ~ hi Patricia... there are actually several schools that teach Irish dance in Charlotte. The Queen City has a rich Irish history and St Patrick's Day is always a big deal here.

I'm from Chicago originally, land of  an excessive population of  Irish Mayors, politicians, and Irish Catholic Schools. But I don't recall one single Irish Dance Studio. The luck of the Irish must thrive in Charlotte. I can't say it did in Chicago.

Clarksville is also called the Queen City. The St. Paddy's Day events will be so enjoyable and may the streets be filled with joyful revelers.

Debbie Reynolds ~ hi Debbie... how interesting. Why is Clarksville called the Queen City? Charlotte is named after Queen Charlotte of England, who before her marriage to King George was a German Princess from Mecklenburg... and hence the name of the county where Charlotte is situated (Mecklenburg). So when we say Queen City we are referring to Charlotte's orgins.
