The Queen City will be going green in a big, big way in Uptown on Saturday, March 17th on St. Patrick's Day with Charlotte's 22nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Charlotte Goes Green Festival.
The Charlotte Goes Green Festival will feature Irish music, dancers, bagpipers and vendors, as well as a children’s amusement area and all kinds of of food and beverages. Admission is free and the festival will run from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm. The Festival's location will be on S. Tryon Street between 3rd Street and Stonewall Street.
Charlotte's St. Patrick's Day Parade has grown to be one of the city's best and biggest annual parades. It will kick off at 11:00 am at N. Tryon and 9th Streets in uptown Charlotte and will march south to 3rd Street where it will take a left and march down 3rd Street to Caldwell.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade and Charlotte Goes Green Festival attracted capacity crowds in 2017 and it's expected that 2018 will see the same.
The Queen City has a rich Irish heritage as Charlotte was developed by a wave of migration of Scotch-Irish/Scots-Irish Presbyterians (Ulster-Scot settlers from Northern Ireland) in the early 18th Century, who dominated the culture of the Southern Piedmont Region.
