YES ....it IS true....we are the Cupcake folks that present, past and potential clients remember. here it is ...in living purple and white...and sometimes we like to "change this up" a little bit....memorably and deliciously so....and so that requires a trip to The Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago, WI. (Yes...another tongue twister town where you wanna go....pronounced Muck won a go. From the Potawatomi Indian Tribe the name translates to Bear's Den...though we know of no sitings in recent history.) Part of Mukwonago is in Waukesha County and part of it is in Walworth County...quaint, country....and like most everything else in southeastern Wisconsin...20 minutes from anywhere.
The Elegant Farmer is a sort of "step back in time" and has the atmosphere of an old General Store and you might expect to see someone from the Old West strolling the aisles...but instead you will find jams and jellies, a deli department, fresh produce, a selection of gifts ....many eatable ! And then...the thing that the store is most noted for...their bakery....Pies baked in a brown paper bag. They well describe it as a sort of cross between a pie and a cobbler,,,crisp crust and tender delicious fruit inside. Flavors are not just limited to apple..there are apple combnations...apple/rhubarb, apple/blueberry, apple/carmel and my personal favorite when it is in season, apple/raspberry....mmmm...it doesn't get better than that !
Mukwonago is considered a part of Waukesha county's Lake Country area and if you are plannng a trip this way...you will enjoy all this little village has to offer tourists and native Wisconsinites alike.
If you or anyone you know is looking to make southeastern Wisconsn the place they call home...call Sally K. & David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with Keller Williams and we'll show you why we have called Wisconsin our home for a lifetime.
