It’s time to spring forward again – but is it really necessary? Many in the U.S. and in Europe are now debating this issue and as always there are lots of pros & cons. Some research indicates the tradition is responsible for increased traffic accidents attributed to a lack of sleep and lower school and work performance. Other research suggests changing the clock disrupts natural sleep patterns. It originated as a wartime measure in World War I and then was on & off for years and then brought in permanently in 1966 in the U.S. in the belief that it improved productivity and reduced energy use – ultimately this proved marginal at best. So many consider it irrelevant in the 21st century.
So what is your opinion? Yea or Nay??
