Are you to busy to make money???

There's a BIG difference between active and productive! A lot of agents can be seen running from appointment to appointment, attending broker open houses, attending agent trainings, meeting buyers, listing appointments and still no check! Now how is this possible? I am speaking from experience when I tell you I have gotten home exhausted and as a result still no check.  I believe a lot of us get caught up being active but not productive. As we get closer to the 2nd quarter of 2018 (wow, time is flying) some of us need to re-organize, re-strategize and get focused on the goals at hand.

Just a few words of advice if you are in this situation.

1- Identify who your HOT clients are - these are the clients who want to buy or sell within the next 30 days and switch your focus to them. Don't abandon your other clients but follow the money! Remember the goal is to work with RAW people (Ready, Able & Willing)

2- Divorce some clients - (yeah I said it) divorce clients that are causing you grief and/or keeping you busy yet the results never equal a check. i.e. that seller that refuses to lower their list price eventhough they are already 15% above FMV and those buyers that have toured 100 houses yet feel like another 25 may just do the trick (yeah those folks)

3- LEAD GENERATE - Isn't this our primary occupation?? spending time driving and meeting folks all day is great but try sitting down in a quiet location and call fsbo's/ expired listings and buyers in your pool and generate some NEW business.

4- Take a break - (not a long one) but take a breather.  Although Millionaire real estate NY/LA makes the business feel like a piece a cake and those 100k checks seem appealing; this is not the norm for most of us. It's a great gig being a real estate professional but it can be stressful and trying at times and sometimes you need to detox from your phone, email and text and tell all your clients that you're on a mini "staycation" or vacation...moral of the story is take some time for yourself to reflect on everything and also to recharge your energy!

Lets face it, we all love real estate but we love it even more when those commission checks clear; so lets re-focus and get back to being productive and not just active!

HAPPY SELLING FOLKS!!!

That's a good list of tips, Malik.  I can remember when I was first licensed in the 1980s.  I get into my marketing routine.  The phone would ring, and I'd be busy working with clients.  However, marketing would get put on the back burner until things slowed down once again.  And, then I would start the cycle all over again.  There really needs to be a balance. . .A little bit of this, and a little bit of that!
