What is the best breed of cat?

I always loved cats; I had my own had when I was 8 years old. I did bring it home from my friend's house. It was 4 weeks old tabby. He was my friend, he even eat pickles if I wanted him too. We called him Kis-kis. Then I had Nika, who was female and she was the biggest thief in the world. If anything was left on countertops Nika will get it, try it and leave it on the floor. Terrible character! But she gave us the most beautiful kittens in the whole town and our friends were quite appreciative.

In my American life, one evening, I was walking by Pets Smart store and decided to walk in. Well, in the same evening we had two 3 months old Maine coons running around our bedroom. We adopted two brothers, silver color Maine coons. They totally didn't pay attention to me or my husband for two days. They had tons of energy and played with each other all the time.  Than, on the third day, one of them came to me and started giving all the love that one cat can possibly hold inside of him. They had a break down and became our treasures. We named them - Lolek and Pashka.

They are indoor cats, they love to play. They fetch anything that you throw, they love to eat salad leafs, they never had disagreement and they love to wash each other.

When people come to our home, they come to sniff them and stay around people like dogs. Pashka is a great hunter; no bug can survive in our house for more than 5 minutes.

Irina:  I am glad I stopped and looked at your post.  Your Maine Coons look like my cat Minx.  She's always been the oddball cat in the family, and called an American long-hair.  I think she may have been wrongly categorized.  Beautiful cats!!

my grandparents had a maine coon that they adored!

The BEST cat ever!   When my grandfather passed away, the cat was depressed for a while and would constantly follow my grandmother around as if he was protecting her.   Then when my grandmother passed away.....he did a few weeks later for apparently no reason!   We always felt it was from a broken heart!!

Great pictures, Irina. We have a tuxedo cat and he's unbelievable. Like a spoiled kid, and he can talk, too, but you'd never believe me :-). He actually has a small vocabulary and can say milk, mama, cookie, cheese, I love you, and window when he wants to sit in the window with the screen up so he can feel the breeze. If you heard him you'd fall out of your chair :-) Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for the great post.

David Saks, I wish I could see your cat and fall down of my chair. You are lucky to find such a unique personality. Do you have photos of your cat? Can you post it here?

I love cats...they have such an independent spirit!  People NEVER believe the things they can do!!

My cat is not pure bred, in fact, I think he is an inbred mut cat!!  my husband thinks that the cat's brother is also his grandfather....hmmmm.   We got him from a farm. Oh yeah, everyone thinks he is siamese!  rofl, none of his family line are siamese!  But he is GORGEOUS!!

Anyway, he is the BEST cat but he refuses to eat unless someone is there watching him!  lol

He will walk beside you and claw your feet until you go into the bathroom where his food is and stand there and watch him eat!!

As a "mom" of two cats....Puppy and Tuft I really enjoyed seeing yours.  Puppy is seven and was my daughter's cat....when she passed away from cystic fibrosis we had to bring him home with us.  Tuft adopted us last year and they are still "hissing" at one another.  Puppy has always been inside and Tuft since winter.  Would not trade the pleasure I get from them for anything!!!

Truthfully...I think the best kind of cat is a dog.  However, we do have a great cat at home.  I got it from a client who was moving and could not keep the cat.  I still love my 3 rescued dogs, but this cat has become a beloved member of the family

Irina - Your cats are gorgeous... there is more fun with two...

We have the best Persian in the world... Samson is the hardest working cat in real estate.  He loves to sleep on the fax machine and sits next to me while I work on the laptop...

I want a coon cat! It would be perfect for my farm, especially around pigs. Any thoughts on where to get one? For free?
