Calgon take me away!!! We have four teenagers - two in college and two in high school and they are home, sleeping until noon and laying out at the pool all day. We have them take care of chores but they have a ton of friends come over and they get the chores done quick so they can play. We told them tonight that they have 3 weeks to relax and then it is time to get a JOB. It's not so much about the money it is about them being lazy and not having the work ethic that we feel they should have. They are awesome kids - good grades - never in trouble - we are proud of them but ... they should work to earn money for their play time ... right?

Tamara - enjoy those kids! These years will go too quickly and soon they will be gone. I think your 3 week compromise sounds good - 3 weeks of play is more than most of us get in a year.

I miss those days! When my boys were in high school they couldn't really work during the summer because of their sports teams. When they went to college they worked at the golf course during the summer. I loved having a pool but some days there were just too many visitors! lol!
