PA Horse Community Comes Together to Help A Fellow Horse Family
On Monday, March 12, 2018, a huge fire broke out at the home of a local family on a horse farmette in the Nazareth, PA area. Despite the efforts of the Bushkill Township Fire Company, along with other surrounding fire companies, the family's home was destroyed, with the possibility of the loss of their pets, two dogs and a cat. They are hoping that the pets were able to escape. Even thought they lost everything, fortunately, their horses were safe and unaffected by the fire. It is hard to imagine anyone going through something like this.
This family was highly active in the horse community. They dedicated many hours participating in or supporting the various horse activities and organizations. Therefore, the neighbors and horse community are getting together to help this family in their time of need.
Many are donating various items, such as gift cards, gift certificates, cash, necessities, etc. to this family. The Northampton County 4H is organizing an Easter Egg Hunt and a silent auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to the family.
The Egg Hunt and Silent Auction will be held Saturday, March 31st, 2018, at the Northampton County 4H Center at 777 Bushkill Center Road in Nazareth, PA. Registration will be at 9:30 AM and the hunt will begin at 10:00 AM. A $5.00 donation is requested per person to participate, with a parent accompanying the youth to the program.
Photos with the Easter Bunny will also be available for $5.00. The Silent Auction will go from 9:30 AM with a close out at 11:00 AM. Anyone wishing to donate to the Silent Auction can drop off items at 9:00 AM the day of the auction at the 4H Center or Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00PM at the 4H offices in Nazareth.
Cash and gift certificates will also be accepted as well as gift cards.
Thank you all for helping us help our fellow horse family in need. I know they will greatly appreciate our help.
