Shoreacres has a total population of 1292 resident. The community began when Shoreacres, Inc. subdivided the North part of the Hunning 800 acres out of the W.P. Harris Survey. Shoreacres was incorporated as a city in November 1962. Shoreacres is a city on its own with its own police department, post office and is governed by a city council.
