Shoreacres is located along side La Porte, TX alongside Hwy 146. Much of the community is located on the water. The community is located very close to Kemah Boardwalk.
Shoreacres has a total population of 1292 resident. The community began when Shoreacres, Inc. subdivided the North part of the Hunning 800 acres out of the W.P. Harris Survey. Shoreacres was incorporated as a city in November 1962. Shoreacres is a city on its own with its own police department, post office and is governed by a city council.
