Daffodil Hill Will NOT Open This Year

By
Real Estate Agent

I was heartbroken to learn that Amador County’s Daffodil Hill won’t be opening this year. It has become a family tradition to try and visit each year. However, recent storms which have come to our area of California, have taken their toll on this beautiful experience. The good news – There’s always next year!

Myrl,

Mother Nature has played havoc on many areas these past few months let's hope she is in a better mood from now on.

"Always next year"...let's hope the remains true, Myrl.  I don't particularly like the rain but the impact has mostly been positive.

Hi Myrl- that has to be disappointing. So many things that we count on in our crazy world. But, yes, there will be next year.

What a beautiful tradition to go to Daffodil hill each year.  Does the exhibit grow each year?  I will l ook forward to more pics next year when it reopens.

When I used to live in Hawaii I would always chuckle when they would close the schools because of rain. I understand how much rain you got this last winter after a Drout rain sometimes can be bad...

Paul, you lived in Hawaii also?   We lived in a few different places on Oahu...Naval Base (Holemoku, Pearl Harbor), and for a few years on Waikiki while attending University of Hawaii, Manoa.  Where did you live?    Still have family and friends on different Hawaiian Islands.....  Aloha!

Hi Myrl,

That IS disappointing.  Daffodils are one of the first signs of spring.  I notice some on a hillside at the golf course yesterday and they made me happy.  At least you have your pictures.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat,  as long as there isn't going to be a Daffodil Hill this year, I came to your Daffodil Hill post.  We can visit it together this year...in spirit and love.  Hope you are feeling better, my friend.

Sorry to hear that the rains took its toll on a favorite spot of yours Myrl.  Hopefully they can replant enough to make a good showing next year!

With the 4 Nor'easters we had here recently, I am surprised my few daffodils are doing okay.  My crocuses did not fair well, but not sure if it was weather or hungry squirrels going for the bulbs....
