How often have you heard the quote from Will Rogers that you do not get a second chance to make a first impression? Lots, I'm guessing. It's a hard lesson to learn as a young person, (particularly now in the age of social media). Young teens sometimes say and do things that perhaps they will regret as adults (the phenomenal young people who organized and participated in the March for our Lives movement are certainly excepted, they are so impressive and unaccountably mature for their ages). I know more than a few things I've done as a young person that I regret and I'm forever grateful they aren't memorialized on social media!
In real estate, the saying is very important. Putting your best foot forward right out of the gate is your best bet for a quick sale for the most money in the shortest amount of time. That's why, as a listing agent, I provide the seller with a staging consultation and when that is done and all items are corrected, I provide a professional photographer so that the home shines as a first impression on the internet. I see so many new listings come on with no photo. That might work in today's "seller's" market but markets come and go and agents who take the easy way out will not flourish when the tide changes. Photos with unmade beds, cluttered counters, toilet seat up... all of these things make a terrible first impression and make the difference between a buyer wanting or not wanting to see a home.
First impressions... I'd like a chance to meet with you so that we can see, after our first impressions, if we are a good fit to work together.
