My daughter has just become the Librarian, a one day a week job, at my grandchildren’s school. She needs help to organize and modernize.
The last librarian left a system of notebooks and papers with book titles written out. They apparently had an automated system years ago but it hadn't been updated and was lost in transition at some point. This means there isn't even a card catalog system to keep track of books and check them in and out, just lists on papers.
I ask for your help on this crowd funding site...
Visitation Catholic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Academy is a small private school in Tacoma, WA serving students from preschool to 8th grade.
We have an extensive library for both student research and leisure reading. However, we are without a card system or automation software to keep track of inventory and book circulation.
I would love to use students' library time to extend their academic learning and encourage their love of reading but much of the time is spent on checking in and checking out books, a process that would take much less time with automation software.
I have found a local company that provides hosted library software at a discount for small schools. $1,503 would cover 5 years of automation software hosted on external servers ($323 for the first year and $295 for each additional year).
Please consider supporting our school library! Thank you!
