I love to write.
I got started here in The Rain way back in 2007. And I can say I have written a blog post or two. Not as many as some of you have done (you MillionPLUS point kinda people) but I've done them. And I've fallen on and off the wagon more than once.
I'm hanging on to the side of the wagon now, and I will get back on it! It's tough....I've got THREE, yes, THREE places to blog and work on. There is MyMidtownMojo, my main site I started back shortly after joining Active Rain. I'm learning how a site can fall down, and hard, when you don't work it on a regular basis. My second site is MyAtlantaMojo. I created that site when I decided I need to expand my market area. Here in ATL, when people see "Midtown" and you are in any kind of suburban area, they look at you like you just might be a three-headed monster. "What are you doing here, this is not Midtown?" I get asked. So, I now have two sets of business cards and two sites to maintain.
And there is Active Rain. Still ranks when you post here, and so I need to focus here too.
Oh, and somewhere in there, sell some real estate.
Back to the writing.
The Benefits of Keeping a Journal
Another goal is to journal. I'm one of those people that you can ask, "Hey, remember when we first discovered our secret spot?" my life-partner will say to me. "Ah, no, I don't." And he can remember almost the exact date and time.
But, if I journal about it, I can "flip to that page" in the journal, and BAZINGA...... it's like that moment in time happened just a day ago. I can remember it in so much more detail.
Now, the challenge is actually journaling. My handwriting is something else, and if I do a handwritten journal, there is little there. But with technology and my Mac and iPhone.....my journal is almost always in my hand or in my pocket.
Enter Day One.

It's an app for us Apple geeks, but I'm sure PC users could find something that is much the same and would work on the Android system.
In a nutshell, I can make a journal entry from anywhere, either on my laptop, my iMac, or my iPhone, and the journal entry syncs across all three devices. SHREEK!!!!
Now, I'm not keeping up like I need to....and so here we go! It's like I now have FOUR PLACES TO BLOG!
But when I DO journal, it's such a mental relief. Not only do I reflect on the events of the day (and the app allows you to upload multiple photos on the paid version which I have) but I kind of treat it like my best friend. I'll "tell my journal" all kinds of things I've been thinking...and it's like getting stuff off my chest in a way.
One day, someone will read it and yikes....they will be in for one helluva story.
So, do you journal? How do you do it?
I'd love to know how it works for you. Do you journal at the end of the day? First thing in the morning to remember yesterday?
Oh, I need to go catch up.
