Save the date and mark your calendars, you don’t want to miss tickets for The Lick Observatory Summer Series. For the past 38 years the Lick Observatory has hosted various concerts, lectures, telescope viewings and amateur astronomy for the general public’s enjoyment .
In their Evening with the Stars programs world-renowned astronomers talk about the stars while you can look through the historic 36-inch Great Lick Refractor telescope. They also offer an astronomy discussion with amateur astronomers using small telescopes. Another notable program is The Music of the Spheres Concerts. The Lick Observatory brings world musicians to the summit of Mount Hamilton for a musical night one cannot forget. Musicians like Black Cedar, Melody of China, and Charged Particles fills Mount Hamilton with music under a big starry night. The program follows an astronomy talk by world-renowned scientists, or “star” scientists.
Tickets for these events go on sale April 18th at noon for the general public. Tickets will be sold online only at www.ucsctickets.com. Be sure to get them fast, they expect a quick sell out as in previous seasons. More acts will be added to the Summer Series lineup, the list will be finalized and announced in early April.
