There are lots of readymade flower planters or hanging baskets at different nurseries around town that can give your patio or front yard a splashy look. However you want to have certain varieties of plants with a color combination that you like.
The following are some tips for you to achieve that perfect planter look that you can do yourself:
Use the tried and true method of testing the dampness of the soil about an inch below the surface. In Southern Nevada you will have to water daily- or even twice a day. If your planter is on the ground use a drip irrigation system.
You can always have a planter of succulents that need less watering like jade, agave and hens and checks, etc.
Fertilize when you start your project and add fertilizer every couple of months during the summer.
Ask the experts in the nursery so you can have plants that are compatible with each other and try to limit plant varieties to two or three – with one or two having color.
Bottom Line- Do a little research on your own – find out what plants work well in planters in Southern Nevada and enjoy your outdoor spaces.
