Hello and welcome to a day in Summit County. The sign above is posted at a scenic overlook off the highway on my 11 minute drive to work. To be honest, Friday was the first time I ever pulled over to take pictures but they turned out alright. 
As it was, I was running all over the county and it was a crystal clear day. I had to run up to A-Basin. Arapahoe Basin is the locals choice. It is mostly above tree line and offers steep terrain in a relaxed atmosphere. Locals call the closest parking lot "The Beach" and the BBQ and bikinis in the spring are why. Here's a few pics: 
I went home to let the dog out and, of course, there is always a neighborhood dog waiting for my dog to play.

My roommate was nice enough to make me lunch. 
And then it was time to head to Copper Mountain Ski area. Copper is my favorite resort; it has fast lifts, a variety of terrain and is in an idyllic valley. 
In the parking lot, you can pick up a free shuttle to take you to the hill. 
On this day I wasn't there to ski but to get new foot beds for my boots. Talk to any experienced ski boot fitter and they'll tell you that a good foot bed makes the boot. My friend Jeremiah is a boot master at Sure-foot. He measured my feet and had a pair custom molded.  
Thanks Jeremiah, they fit great. So I live in a beautiful place but it does have it's drawbacks. For instance, I was getting hungry so I ordered.  This is Copper's apres special; it is only $10.50. That's correct, $10.50. And no I didn't forget to take a picture of the rest of the pie- 1 beer, 1 slice= $10.50. But the view from the parking lot sooths all that.
