Friday Diary of a Charlotte Realtor® - 13APR18
This has been a week of 'achievements,' bidding wars out the wazoo and much, much more! Thankfully, we won all of the bidding wars but, gosh, going into midnight nearly every night this week was a bit exhausting. I'm looking forward to sleeping in on Sunday! LOL
My garage sorting & emptying done and the Total Garage flooring done, both to have the garage ready for the Total Garage cabinet installation on Monday, led into a great weekend. We de-staged a listing (in the rain, no less) and also had surprise guests on Saturday & Sunday! It was SUCH a treat to meet Gary 'Banana' Houghtaling & Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS, Broker who were traveling back home from spending the week at the beach. We had a wonderful time catching up and there may have been a little ActiveRain discussion while they were here too! :-)
Bright & early Monday morning, the Total Garage guys arrived and cabinet installation took the better part of the day. They left the place neat & clean and everything done professionally - the cabinets were even cleaned off - doors & all.
On Thursday, the Control Freaks, a local organizing group, arrived to unload the PODS and organize the tools, paint, staging items, catering items, Costo supplies and more. Everything we had sorted last week, now has a home in the cabinets. Today, the empty PODS left the driveway and we're now parking again in our garage - with all sorts of extra space. We couldn't be happier!
During all of the garage work and real estate business that was going on, Ray had one final test to determine the next step for repair of his arm issue. We still believe it to be a nerve issue but, regardless, the partially town rotator cuff remains a possible cause of the pain and weakness. We hope to hear the final determination early next week.
Yes, business goes on, even when we're participating in large or small personal projects! Several buyers were involved in multiple Offer situations and we are now pending one more that we should hear about tomorrow. I don't want to jinx it but, so far, we've won! Two clients will have homes to sell and what a joy working with repeat clients and watching them excited about beginning new chapters in each of their lives.
One of my favorite clients, had quite the celebratory Closing and in the end, the sellers were selling me to the attorney and the paralegal! We had a wonderful time working together and still have a new construction home for them to Close in a few months when they return from spending some time in their Florida home.
Another one of my favorite clients ever, moved to Chicago about 6 years ago and is now returning to Charlotte. One of her friends that she had referred to me about 5 years ago, purchased another property recently and phoned me while I was on vacation to look at a home for my Chicago client. My assistant showed him the property and they FaceTimed with my the buyer and won in a bidding war while I was gone! It was so exciting for them and she arrived in town today to see her new home for the first time. We spent about 2 hours touring, chatting and laughing - she loves the place! We are looking forward to inspections next week just before she leaves Charlotte one final time before returning for Closing at the end of the month.
This evening, I attended a celebration of life gathering for a dear friend who lost her mother, then returned home to submit an Offer for another buyer who toured a home this morning. I think Ray & I had dinner about 9:30 tonight - shame on us, right?! Or should I say, shame on me - I'm the one that held that up!
I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
