I received a recruiting phone call from an agent . He was calling for a broker This broker was calling me every year . Personally I really do not know why this broker was calling me . I very politely thanked this broker for their interest in me but told them I had no desire to leave my current brokerage and would appreciate the calls stopping .
I explained I was very happy where I am They started to say how they would be giving me leads and I could make more money . I stopped the conversation right there and said look I do not want to be rude but I have no interest in joining your company.
The calls had stopped for a few years . The other day I received a call from an agent telling me the broker wanted to have coffee with me this week . I was lucky and have caught their eye . I asked the agent why are you calling me ti invite me to have coffee with someone else He said his broker was too busy and asked him to give me a call .
I responded with I was also busy and was sorry I must decline . He then persisted to inform how fortunate I was to be invited to have coffee with his broker and should make the time . I told hime to take me off his list had no intentions of leaving where I was politely said "goodbye "
If you are looking to recruit someone do it yourself and to be honest lunch is much more impressive then coffee. How many times do you get calls from other brokerages to leave your current office . Do you find them annoying ? I do especially when they are not solicited . I can understand if you have a deal with the broker or have approached them but just out of the blue I think is really rude and pushy . I sometimes question the ethics of these tactics .
What is your opinion ?
