Loosen That Vise on Your Wallet When Marketing or You'll Lose Money!!

We all clearly understand, it takes money to make money. Having said that, do you think twice about ways to save a few dollars, when it’s time to spend that marketing money?

One needs to be “all in” when it comes to the marketing game. One “corner cut” can amount to several homeowners missing a powerful marketing moment. The one who misses will be the agent!

I was inspired to write about this thought, after I read a comment made by Chris Ann Cleland on my pending postcard blog post.  Chris mentioned that she had two pending sales in the same neighborhood and mailed two postcards to the same homes but staggered them by a couple of days.  That’s powerful marketing.

Those who are thinking about cutting corners would have missed the purpose of those postcards by mailing one postcard and possibly saying two homes pending on one card. That’s not energizing.  That’s nothing more than loading one card with lots of information.

Perception becomes reality in the real estate business.  When pending postcards land every couple of days, it looks like you own the neighborhood! It’s perceived that you are the only agent who does business in that neighborhood.  Homeowners want to do business with successful people.

Let them know you’re successful without ever having to use that word.  They will attach the word “successful” to your name after receiving your second consecutive pending postcard.

Shout it out without making a sound by marketing properly. It will speak for itself!!!!

Just a thought for the moment…..

Barbara! what a great post!  It took me a minute to realize this earlier in my career, now I just budget it in as 'just another bill' but the kind of bill that pays major dividends ! :)

you are spot on as usual - this is great advice to anyone who is getting ready to start a farm - either stick with it and do it well or don't do it at all

Lise Howe agents who farm need to be "all in"....or it's a waste of money...

SmartZip Analytics (Adam).... real estate agents have many friends in the business.... most agents don't take advantage of those friends....

Barbara, Very true.  We've seen many agents who are flummoxed when a friend chooses someone else as their agent. Most common excuses are:  The friend forgot or didn't realize the agent friend was still "doing" real estate.  It's okay to market to friends too! In fact, critical.

Great advice. It's easy to cut corners by mailing postcards that include multiple properties. Owning the neighborhood is key!

Perfect idea for me today. Closing on one in a subdivision today and while at the closing we are signing listing paperwork for his rental in there to sell.
