"Learn More, Know Less" - Neil Strauss
The biggest flaw and most dangerous trait that a salesperson can possess is the complacent mindset of thinking they already know everything.
What have you been doing to make sure you're ALWAYS learning? Have you thought about that one lately?
See, too often we find ourselves feeling like we tap into educational resources but are really only seeking the content that support our actions or mindset ... but that's not what it's about. You've gotta challenge yourself. Our plans and actions can really only find their validation when put up against something that challenges everything about them ... to either affirm with great strength that we're on the right path or perhaps went down the wrong one completely.
My encouragement: read and listen to content that offers insights to new perspectives both IN and OUTSIDE of the industry.
One of the favorite books I'm reading right now is called "Tribe Of Mentors: Short Life Advice From The Best In The World" by Timothy Ferriss ... and I HIGHLY recommend it. This book offers insights from just about every business you can think of and it's a GREAT one.
If you find yourself more in the mood for a listening opportunity and want to try something new ... you can check out my new podcast called RERAW (that would stand for Real Estate RAW) ... where I've got three different show formats, each of which post once per week, to help agents and industry professionals find value from all different angles. We've got short form sales meetings that are 20 minutes or less, interviews with real estate agents, industry professionals and sales influencers from every walk of life and Ramble sessions for the "after hour" talk where we have less structure and share everything from the war stories, industry news, fun Q&A or really anything the conversations bring out.
All that said, the short message is simple ... YOU DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING, YOU NEVER WILL. The sooner you acknowledge that and open yourself up to further insights ... the faster you'll find growth and development in your business and personal life.
Real Agents Work! Always keep learning ... and get it done.
