I Highly Recommend This Simple Inexpensive Home Security Product

Home Stager with Sharon Tara Transformations

Six years ago, when we bought our home, I was looking for a way to secure the sliding door...not just from outside intruders... I was babysitting the grands at the time and wanted to control their access to outside.

My daughter recommended a great home security product called BurglaBar.

BurglaBar Keeps The Children In and The Burglars Out

I've recently bought a new home and it has a slider.

The previous owners left a stick in the track of the door. That was their idea of security.

We haven't even moved in yet, but we purchased and installed BurglaBars already.

BurglaBar is a hinge-type lock that can be used on sliding doors or sash windows, preventing them from opening.

It's self adhesive, requiring no tools for installation.

It's clear plastic so it's hardly noticeable once installed.

Here's a closer look at the BurglaBar in both "unlock" and "lock" positions:burglabar

They install in just minutes and all you do is flip them open when you want the door secure.

Check out this BurglaBar video for more uses.

If you, or your clients, or anyone else you know and/or love

are looking for an affordable and easy to use childproofing product

or want added security for your home,

I highly recommend this product!

Hi Sharon what a great idea to keep the little ones safe. We have a simple hinge lock up high but it sounds like this one would work much better.  Thanks!

That is a very good product, I have seen some people put a stick at the bottom, haha.  This would be much better than that though.

Got these in my residence.  Very effective as long as no one throws a concrete block through my doors!

Dear Sharon,

That must be some sort of glue to hold a large door after repeated attempts. Will have to watch for these to see how they work.

Hi Sharon

Thanks for a great security tip instead of those ugly sticks in the track which you see pretty often. I haven't heard of these or seen them until now!

I have a question that you might can answer for me... can you open the window a little and then lock it there?  I love to sleep this time of year with the windows cracked, but I'd love the security (minus the ugly stick I use now) that would prevent them from being opened further.

Tammy Lankford,  I was just having this conversation with my husband yesterday! We just moved from a home where our master bedroom windows were up high enough that we didn't have to worry about sleeping with windows open.  New house is all street level and although he doesn't care, I don't want to sleep with windows open. I plan to give these a try for exactly what you suggest...preventing the window from opening too far.

Their video shows them preventing the window from opening. I don't see why it wouldn't work if you placed them up higher.
