There is a program buyer's can use to get their downpayment money and closing costs paid up to 6% of the sale price. It's called Nehemiah. Coupled with the FHA 97% loan, buyer's can buy a home with no money down except for a small earnest money deposit. One mortgage company in our town has done 93 of these Nehemiah programs to help buyers get inot a home but the program still seems to be underutilized. If we could get the news media to start talking about this instead of how some credit sectors have tightened up, we could help a lot more people get the home of their dreams. Let's spread the word.
