U.S. News Ranks Salt Lake City As 15th Best Place To Live In The US!
In a study by U.S. News & World Report analyzing 125 of the nation's largest metropolitan areas, Salt Lake City had come out as the 15th best place to live in the United States.
Out of five criterias determining its overall score of 7.1, the Utah state capital's highest index was at 7.9 for value of living, noting that people are moving there because of a more cost-efficient cost of living compared to other major metro areas. Following next is a tie between its high quality of life and strong job market at 6.9 and not too far behind, its desirability as a place to live at 6.7.
SLC boasts five national parks and several world-class ski resorts within driving range to go with its vibrant downtown culture and other cultural amenities and attractions like museums, performing art venues and professional sports.
On the other hand, its unemployment rate is lower than the national average thanks to increasing job opportunities in trade, transportation, technology, utilities, education, health care, finance, manufacturing, construction, tourism and hospitality. Notable companies like Adobe Systems, 3M Health Information Systems and Microsoft have set up shop in the region helping it experience an economic boon.
Salt Lake City also has a lower crime rate than similarly sized metro areas.
Its net migration score index for this year is at 6.4 but Salt Lake City increasingly attracts millenials to its downtown area while more housing developments and condos crop in the region.
