Do You KNow First Aide?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

When I worked in corrections I was required to know CPR  and First Aide.

It was a few years back when a young boy came walking up to my door...

"I need help."  He said.

I fell off my bike.

When I looked at the boys hands I seen something of a mangled mess.

I could tell he was in major pain.

My kids knew who he was and so I put the young man in my car with soft

pillow in his lap to set his hands on.

I headed for the hospital and sent my kids to find one of the parents.

I was so glad I had an idea of how to help this boy by firs staying calm.

If you have never had a first aide course...take one.

They are harmless and it could save a life!

The Dr. later told me that the way I helped the young man may have save one of his hands.

They healed but not with a few minor issues.\

Again, take the course!!!!

My bride has saved 2 lives on Virgin America, both times with a defibrillator.

As a former life guard, hunter and camper; I have my basic first aide and CPR down. I even know how to use a defibrillator.

Morning William.

I had CPR a few decades ago.  I can still remember how to do it.  Something you really never forget

William, I have not taken a course, and keep saying I should.    Better look into it.

Good morning William. I did take a CPR course years ago and it was so good. I was in a very large group many years ago when a young girl went down and someone immediately started CPR which would have hurt or killed her because she was breathing. I pushed them away and had someone call for help.

I can patch up small issues, but that is about the extent of my ability unfortunately.

When I was selling over 55 new homes, we had the Rrd Cross come in often for classes for us. It is better to have and not need William Feela than need and not know

Thank you for this real-life scenario, William!  I have taken CPR classes many moons ago but I definitely could stand a refresher.

This is certainly good advice to share.

Summertime will bring more incidents around the swimming pools and the beach and some will be injured during yard work.

Sometimes I think these courses should be mandatory however you can't go into this half-heartedly. You have to be able to learn to help. Thank you William...
