After Escrow Closes Buyer Discovers Big Problem!

By
Real Estate Agent with Lyon Real Estate BRE #00697006

Yes, I was a bit bewildered as I answered my phone yesterday, noticing an agent's name pop-up for a sale that had already closed. Especially since I didn't think we had anything else to discuss. I mean, she had already disclosed to me all the terrible things her buyer forced her to do during the transaction. How her buyer pushed her to email me over and over, saying stupid things. Dumb stuff, like, tell her that house is really a two bedroom house and always will be a two bedroom house, as though that was news to me. Or, that I cared.

So, perhaps she was calling to reiterate all of those crazy emails. Or, not. No, probably not. Must be something else. And the blog that Joan Cox wrote prompted me to write about this because it is interesting, not to mention, amusing. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Uh, Oh, Buyer's Agent Warns, We Have a BIG PROBLEM after closing.

Elizabeth, is it the full moon, or just crazy agents?    Things happen, and they need ot deal with it after closing, unless the Sellers knew about.  BTW, we have had homes blow up around here lately.

Hi Elizabeth... I echo what Joan Cox said... is it a full moon or just crazy agents! Holy moly, what a story. Loved the pictures of the dog on the mat... priceless!

Elizabeth- this reminds me of some of the calls Larry would get. He was a new home builder and months after someone had moved in, his customer service people would get calls if a bird flew in the house.

Joan Cox You've had homes in the Denver area blow up? From what? Underground leaking gas lines?

Nina Hollander I think the buyer knows how to push the buyer's agent's hot buttons, that's what I think.

Kathy Streib Ha, ha, ha, birds flew in the house!!! Well, maybe the buyers were new  to the area and didn't know who else to call, LOL. Maybe the builder was their only friend.

Good morning, Elizabeth... based on the story you related of the entire closing process...no doubt about that! At least now that agent can say to the past client "I tried."

Elizabeth, I got ANOTHER text from the agent last night, and the water heater is leaking.  I told her we closed three weeks ago, and this is now the buyer's home.

So they want you to do something after the closing about their free stuff that got stolen because they didn't change the locks?  Yeah, that would be a no.

Once it closes it is closed. Buyers need to change their locks immediately so they know only they can get in.

It sounds like that poor agent was royally bullied and just couldn't stand his ground. I wonder how this saga ended?
