Hi Patricia...this is a fantastic list with some items on it that I'd never have thought about. As the old girl scout motto said "be prepared." (Love the picture of the deer, as well.)

Great list of who to help and how to prepare for the worst. One never know what Mother Nature has in store for us. Weird weather everywhere these days - and a Volcano eruption in Hawaii.

Nina Hollander - Thanks! The old Girl Scout Motto is timeless!

I couldn't find a deer in my photo collection but I had a cow and thought, that will work!

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - I read about the volcano eruption in Hawaii when I woke up this morning. My heart is aching for them.

As darkness fell about Flower Mound and the wind was rattling my windows, I regretted that I didn't have enough time to figure out how to build a shelter for my spring flowers. I was so sad for them

Be safe! I know Washington has a volcano there too.

Patricia,

What a nice list you put together for weather preparedness.  We have all experienced so form of weird, and as a friend of us says, "the earth is realigning itself!"  Have a great weekend.  A

HI Patricia Feager - Great post to get people thinking and doing!

I hope lots of people get to see your list. If it saves one person that is a great thing. When I lived in CA, we had an earthquake preparedness kit. Lots of canned goods and access to a propane stove. We had a two week supply of water supply from a Sparkletts water service. You don't fool around with this stuff. Oh! and a special wrench at the gas meter to turn it off if necessary.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - Thanks for the comment. I would add just because something hasn't happened in the past, doesn't mean it can't or won't. We all need to look after each other, including family and friends in other states and parts of the world.

I do believe weird weather is here to stay. We don't get to push a button and delete storm clouds or severe weather.

That's a very nice list, but I sure am glad that I have never really had to worry about severe weather.

This is an excellent preparedness list, Patricia.  While different areas of the country experience different types of disasters, your list will cover most tragedies.

Hi Patricia, What a great list you have put together. It has been a dangerous spring weather-wise. We had tornadoes go through a few weeks ago and one was within a half mile of my home. Thankfully we had no damage. Others were not so lucky.

Debbie Reynolds - It has been weather crazy all over! I don't think anyone is exempt and if it isn't the weather, it's forest fires. I do believe in signs....

I've been trying to stay away from the News because it's so depressing. I had no idea you had tornadoes go through a few weeks ago. That was way too close for comfort and must have been very scary. Be safe. I think the world of you and I hope your family and friends will be safe too.
