Cherokee Lake in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains
Cherokee Lake is a 222-acre private lake in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake has 2 borders with Sumter National Forest and is just minutes from Scenic Highway 11. the lake is fed by 4 streams and multiple springs. The water is emerald green, from the tannic acid of the hardwood leaves that the rainwater flows through. This lake was built in the late 1950's as a soil conservation lake and now has just over 75 homes on the lake. The minimum square footage is 900 and you must start and complete the house within a 12 month period.
