Patricia, you are full of great ideas. This is a very novel one. It would take me a lot of time, but I would learn TONS that could help my clients. Here in SF, new construction is almost always condos (or apartment buildings.)

Our time is valuable and the problem with time is that what's on your side now may not be tomorrow! If AR thinks it's a good idea, perhaps they could come up with a spin-off to be more realistic. We have some brilliant thinkers here on ActiveRain who are much more experienced in this department than me.

We have so much new construction in our area. The market is so hot that most sell way before they are finished and we have so few models. Buyes love new homes.

Debbie Reynolds - With low inventory, many are turning to new construction here too. Our problem is they can't build them fast enough and sellers are renting until they are completed. I'm not seeing one stories, just 2 - 3 stories. I'm interested in what is being built in other parts of the country.

We are seeing lots of 2-stories as well, Patricia. There is a shortage of available lots and this is causing prices to rise faster.

Patricia, wow this would really be a challenge, especially for me two things that I am not inclined yet to do:)) one happens to be videos and the other limitation is we have very few new construction because it takes two to three years to get approvals from our nutty building department.... now I am confident Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD  would have an easy time doing this as a challenge, Endre

Debbie Reynolds - the DFW area in TX faces the same issues with shortage of land to build and prices sky rocketing. Those that are building are on average taking 1 1/2 years to build or longer. Larger land sold off by farmers are being gobbled up by developers creating mixed use and more apartments. What was once minimal apartments has mushroomed into multiples. It's crazy!

We'll see what they come up with or say. Perhaps, just working on "What's trending in your area and/or isn't," and why not would open up options that would be interesting.
