One super-long week has finally come to Friday! So many firsts this week...I submitted 3 Offers on Tuesday and still have no resolution to any of them! I typically have these done in 24 hours or less but, believe me, it's not me! LOL
I had a client who had a bit of a debacle with new construction and THANKFULLY had their own representation. After months of delays, we got this one Closed this week. Having space for adult parents to live separately, the home selection led us to a fabulous new community in Fort Mill that offers separate, detached living quarters. It was the perfect fit and the entire family is elated to finally move into this wonderful home.
A couple of Due Diligence Periods ended this week - all with amicable results - all parties have worked well together and we are on the home stretch for both purchases. Another listing went under Contract in just a few hours. Today, I met with my past client who referred the seller (also upsizing). She said that the seller came into the office on Monday and exclaimed, "I'll bet your houses didn't sell in just a few hours...nor did you get to pick from a slew of Offers!"
The gentleman that she was referring to is the most laid-back, soft-spoken guy and I laughed so hard at her story - I simply can't imagine him doing that but, you know that made me happy!
She said, "That was great for your future business - that's all I can say!"
I attended RE/MAX's annual awards ceremony this week at Top Golf - another first! I had never been to a Top Golf before but, everyone had a grand time! Of course, I did not know we were playing golf and showed up in my 'suggested business attire' - a DRESS so, I could not hit any golf balls!
The facility was top-notch and the food and drinks were fantastic as well. I was asked to attend the ceremony but, had no idea what award I was going to receive. I won the Chairman's Club award and had no idea there was such an award! LOL
I had the pleasure of spending my 4-hour BICUP continuing education class with my friend, Leigh Brown's Dad yesterday. I always enjoy taking my classes at Superior School of Real Estate and to have Bill Gallagher as the instructor AND to be seated with Leigh's Dad was such a treat!
I took my car in for a recall of the fuel pump...thankfully! It took an entire week but, I finally heard from them. "We have a little bit of a problem." Well, you know this isn't going to be good...of course, my mind went to, the car is 7 years old - perhaps it caught fire and I'm going to get a new one! There's some irony in that first thought before I heard what the problem was...
WELL, thank GOODNESS the car had a recall. The mechanics found a mouse nest sitting on top of my fuel pump. The worst part is - the mouse had chewed through all of the insulation around the copper wires leading to the fuel pump, leaving the wires lying right beside one another. They said that I was SO lucky that the copper wires hadn't touched, sparked and ignited the fuel in the fuel pump!
The funny thing - I had just moved my bags of bird seed from my garage to the storage building because it kept spilling in the garage...I thought the bags had holes in them and I was tired of sweeping out my garage! I had the pest folks check out my garage this week and all seems clear now but, they left some traps anyway. How lucky was I that the fuel pump had to be replaced? The mouse nest is gone, the copper wires re-insulated and I FINALLY have my car back!
Have a fantastic week ahead!
