Moving Without the Ball Day 28 of 90 in a Realtors® life.Being in the right place at the right time is no accident. When you are focused on your career, on your community, on your farm you often end up finding things out that put you in position to win. Moving without the ball in a Realtor® life is playing the game on the good days and the bad ones. It matters not at all if someone is rude to you, that is on them. If they don't call back, so what. What matters is how you care about the community and the neighborhood. Take is personally and it will be felt. Play the game full on and you will succeed in ways that may surprise you.
Yesterday a buyer client who came into one of my listings 2 years ago gave me some disappointing news. She told me she found and was accepted into a coop and that she will not be buying right now. I first heard she has a partner who has children and they are going to
buy together at some distant future date. My stomach dropped when I read this email. My initial reaction was "good for you" while I was feeling the sting of "bad for me." I quickly sent a return email congratulating her on finally finding a landing space. And then I had a second thought.
I thought how can all the time I put in with this prospect not be wasted. How can I get some kind of payback for all the time, insight, information and counsel during the time. I went to Zillow (you know I am no fan of this platform, but who can ignore the 800 pound guerilla in our midst) and sent her a request for a review. It was amazing what she said and she captured all the work I did behind the scenes to help her. To me this is Moving Without the Ball Day 28 of 90 in a Realtors® life.
