Once completed, this trail system will surround most of the City of Kissimmee, as well as connect with trail systems in Osceola & Orange County.  'Nestled into an urban corridor of Kissimmee are miles of bike trails, walking paths, and creeks with easy access for kayaks and canoes. These trails don’t just run through the heart of our bustling City, but they also lead riders, walkers, and runners through dense forests and along creek-side board walks into seemingly untouched parts of nature'.

The first phase of the Shingle Creek Regional Trail opened in November 2016 and spanned from Hoagland Boulevard (near the Kissimmee Gateway Airport), through Shingle Creek Regional Park, and up towards the Pioneer Village, about a mile and a half north of Vine Street (U.S. Highway 192).

According to Kissimmee.org, "there’s a lot of excitement as crews have already begun working on the Arrow Ridge segment of this project. This next phase of the trail will connect the phase that ended near the Pioneer Village with another part of the Shingle Creek Regional Trail that is already completed behind the Tapestry development. The 1,800-foot section will also feature one bike rack, two square shelters, and two tables. What really makes this portion of the trail special is that it will run directly through the thick forest area that runs along Shingle Creek, creating another area for nature lovers to escape to. The Arrow Ridge segment of the Shingle Creek Regional Trail is projected to open this fall, giving residents and guests more options to get outside and stay active".
