Would you consider adding neon to your interior design colour palette? My first reaction was 'NO'!!! For me neon colors belonged in the 80s, and had nothing to do with my home decor style. I just could not embrace the thought of having super bright colors in my home. But then I saw more and more posts on Pinterest that featured neon-colored elements for home decor and I reconsidered my initial reluctance. What I learned is: Less is more when it comes to using neon colors. After browsing many boards, I made my own list of my 10 favorite decorating ideas with neon colors. Take a look, you will be surprised how much you might end up liking the idea of decorating with these striking colors.
Just pick a room in your house and think about which element you would paint in a neon color. Think of it as a splash of color that is an immediate eye-catcher. You might pick a picture frame or a ceramic vase. Here are some more ideas for you:
Seeing a classically shaped metal chair in a surprising color, and having it be the only item in a neon color, works for me. This could be a chair in the kitchen or in the corner of your bedroom. If you fall in love with neon colors, why not paint all the chairs of your dining room set bright pink (I would recommend to leave the table in its original color/grain).
Or why not brighten up a kid’s room with neon colors? Just painting the casters of a swivel chair or the feet of a couch.
And for your guest wardrobe it's a nice boost when you paint the hangers in a neon color (different colors look best, I feel).
