Does ActiveRain have the feature?—Should it?

Boomer Jack BoardmanI haven’t written a post all week for Our Saint Paul, and yet there was a new post there every day! Like magic a new post (well sorta new—early episodes of Danger Bay repackaged and combined as chapters, but they could just as easily have been new) appeared every day.

There are those who know stuff about blog-building who will tell you that posting every day is important, but sometimes that just isn’t possible. It certainly isn’t for me.

This is not the first time I’ve used a feature found on most blog platforms that allows for timed post deployment. When I have the time, I write my posts and set them to deploy automagically—thus giving me more time during the week to catch up on my blog reading or graphic drawing.

So my question is: Does ActiveRain have this feature? And if not, should ActiveRain have this feature?

Today is not a rerun day: Danger Bay—Episode 80—Port of Saint Paul! The gang is visiting my home town! (HA! Thought you’d escape my shameless blog promotion, huh!)

I just use time blocking to do what I need to do. Its now 6:40 Am and I'm already caught up. It may be a feature that some would like but with the server as slow as it is now I would rather have more server power here.

I wish ActiveRain had that feature.  Both of my other blogs do.

This would be a great feature.  I also wish AR would disable the ability to have music playing when you open a blog.

Sometimes I open several blogs in new tabs at a time to save going back and forth between the main blog page, and when two or more are playing music it's downright aggravating.  I just close the blogs then.  I should have to shut them up.  Sometimes we take this too far - just because you can doesn't mean you should.

So let's add a useful feature and disable an annoying one!  :)

I would like the feature also- but agree with Chip about slowing down AR even more. There are days where I have lots of time to write- and others where I don't even have time to think about it.

Hi Jack,

I went to your blog & it's really cool...I liked it.  It would be nice to have that feature.

Interesting post . I like it. I would like it if they fixed some of the bugs in the existing features first

Another solution is to write as many blogs as possible when you have time, save them, then quickly post it on the day you want to post it...that only takes a matter of seconds.

Karen: I am not a fan of blog music!

Rob: I would guess that AR has plans to increase server capacity.

Yvette: Thanks for visiting OSP! That timed deploy feature has become almost a necessity for my style of posting,

Charlie: Agreed.

Gregory: I've used that plan as well, but I could be away on vacation (don't have a laptop, and still my posts will deploy daily.

Thanks all for your comments! ;-)

Boomer, I don't think that ActiveRain has that feature, at least I am not aware of it.  Sounds interesting and I am sure that some would benefit from it.
