I would like to wish all mothers a very Happy 2018 Mother's Day. On Mother's Day we always try to do something special for the Mother's at our Church. So the last seven years we have started what has become a tradition for us, serving breakfast to our mother's and expecting mother's to be on Mother's Day.
The breakfast is cooked by several men of the congregation, and the Mother's
are served by their children, both young and old. Both the men and children find it is a great way to serve Mother's who serve them all year long, and try to start their day in a special way.
Three year ago was the first Mother's Day for my daughter in-law Ashley, and my gorgeous granddaughter Elizabeth. It was a special Mother's Day Breakfast not only for them but for my son Matthew, my wife, and myself as well. This year my son Matthew, daughter in-law, and Elizabeth will not be able to be there since they have moved to Greer, South Carolina. But this year will still be a very special Mother's Day for my wife, because our youngest son, Brandon (he does not smile for cameras) will be heading up the Mother's Day Breakfast for the second year. Brandon loves to cook, and will probably be in charge of the Mother's Day Breakfast for several more years to come.
After all the Mother's have been served, the fathers and kids get to sit down in a separate area and get something to eat. Since the kids served their Mother's the food, the men then do the cleaning up at the end.
Hopefully this is something we will continue at our Church for many more years to come. But more importantly we recognize that Mother's should be honored not just once a year on Mother's Day but everyday of the year. Hope you enjoy the pictures below I took of our Mother's Day Breakfast At the Ward Street Church of Christ this year.
Happy Mother's Day 2018
to all Mother's, and I hope this was a special day for every Mother everywhere.
