In March, we reported on how the new Brightline train service will affect real estate along its route. We’re excited to say, it’s time, finally time for us to get All Aboard!  The long awaited Brightline train will roll out of Miami with public passengers this Saturday Morning, May 19th!

On Saturday and Sunday, Brightline has invited anyone who’d like to check out the new train service to join them downtown at MiamiCentral (600 NW 1st Avenue) for a Welcome to the 305 Celebration. For only $3 fares in Smart Service and $5 fares in Select Service, guests can zip their way to Fort Lauderdale, and connect to a train to West Palm. Regular service fares will be $10 – $15 per segment.

“In 1896, Henry Flagler built a passenger rail that paved the way for the Miami we know and love today,” said Wes Edens, co-founder, principal, and co-chief executive officer of Fortress Investment Group.

“We’re proud to continue that legacy with Brightline and MiamiCentral, which are transformative assets for the city and state of Florida. As the first privately-funded passenger train in over 100 years, this innovative model can be replicated to connect many corridors across our nation.”

The Brightline and future Tri-Rail stations are elevated 50 feet above downtown Miami. The Brightline will hopefully also make the Metromover and Metrorail trains more popular due to their connectivity. Tri-Rail will be connected to MiamiCentral beginning in 2019.

Staying true to their promise of a return to American tradition of travel by rail, the trains are 100% made in America. Assembled by more than 1,000 employees at Siemens USA in Sacramento, CA, more than 40 suppliers in over 20 states supplied the components for the state-of-the-art trains. And if you’re one of those that wish Mickey Mouse was more accessible, construction on Phase 2 has already begun and will connect train service to Orlando International Airport.
