Are You Celebrating the Royal Wedding?

 

Perhaps "celebrating" is overboard.

 

Let me rephrase that.

 

Are you going to watch the Royal Wedding, either live (gad, 5 am EST!!) or via recording?

 

The Cardiff Kook, the famed surfing statue on the Coast Road/Coast Highway/Route 101 in Carlsbad may be celebrating this Royal Wedding but I didn't have a chance to get by and see.

 

The statue is dressed up by locals for all sorts of occasions year-round - holidays, special occasions, and so on. It's always fun to see the creativity.

 

You can enjoy all the outfits on the Kook's very own website.

 

That said, here's Kooky celebrating the Royal Wedding way back in 2011, just in case no wedding finery is to be found n the Kook in 2018 tomorrow! We don't want to outdo Meghan and Harry, do we?

Same here Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD . The Kook, as you can imagine, has been pretty controversial - some love the dressing up, others, at leaast early on, found it offensive. And there was lots of criticism about the statue itself from the start, especially from surfers!

That statue is great!!! lol.  Btw, I didn't even know about the wedding.  I guess that I watch too much Star Trek on the Heroes and Icons network.  I'm willing to bet that I got more out of Star Trek for the 80,000th time than had I watched the Royals, lol.  Thanks for the pic Jeff!!

Now, that is funny, Jeff! I remember this statue from previous posts of yours and love how they decorated the statue for this occasion!

I loved the celebrating that was done all across the country. Although I didn't watch the wedding, I did get glimpses of it last night.

You may be right about Star Trek vs. the Royals. I did watch a recording last night.
