"We invite you to choose this place; To visit, to explore, or to stay."
I really like this video about Wenatchee, Washington where I have lived for the last 47 years. Honestly, this video gives me the chills whenever I see it... especially when I hear the narration by a native American whose people inhabited this land long before it was officially settled.
The airplane, Miss Veedol, featured in the video is a replica of the plane that made the first non-stop flight across the northern Pacific Ocean. The 41-hour flight started in Misawa, Japan and (crash) landed in East Wenatchee in 1941. The pilot of the flight was Clyde Pangborn and co-pilot Hugh Herndon. Our local airport (Pangborn Field) is named in honor of the pilot of the historic flight. Misawa, Japan, where the flight started, is now our "Sister City".
I have done quite a bit of traveling in my life and seriously researched and contemplated where I might prefer to live. When I consider ALL things... size, weather, recreational opportunities and traffic being big factors, I have never found a place I would rather call home.
Yes, there are other places I love to visit during certain times of the years but, as I said, considering ALL things Wenatchee is pretty hard to beat.
I hope you have 4:18 to enjoy the video of the place I call home.
It is a great video and fulfils all the important marks of telling a story in an entertaining manner. No wonder it fills you with pride for the place you chose to call "home."

Living in a place that you love so much is certainly a special thing, especially when you can't think of any other place that you would prefer to live!

Good morning Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD ,
Happy Sunday. Wenatchee is a special place. Have you ever visited the Wenatchee area?

Yes, but it's been a loooong time. I also have a wonderful friend who grew up there and visits each summer.
Wenatchee has probably changed a LOT since you were here Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD . We are growing. Does your friend still live here?
Hi Brian England ,
I love visiting Arizona and am looking forward to doing so next winter but Wenatchee is definitely my place to call home.

Spread your wings, Scott Godzyk and get out to the far Pacific Northwest. We are in the geographic center of Washington State.
I believe every global space has a spirit that abides which was imprinted by the original peoples who dwelled there. I remember a special visit to Utah's Highway 12. Along it's path is Zion, Capital Reef and Bryce National parks. There is also 3 Utah State Park along its way as well. One morning at dawn, before most other humans had awaken, I visited Bryce, and could distinctly feel that spirit alive. I think we all do best when we live in harmony with that spirit.
The picture below is of the Hoodoos at Bryce. The Native Americans say they are "dead men standing."

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat ,
Dawn is a wonderful time to be up and enjoying and contemplating the wonder of the spirits of nature. Your picture of the Hoodoos at Bryce brings back fond memories of my first trip there when I was about 14. We also visited Zion and the Grand Canyon on that same trip. You can imagine the awe of a 14-year-old. I have been back a few times to each because I was so in awe. I have never been to Capital Reef. Perhaps that should go on my bucket list?
Hi Sheri Sperry - MCNE® ,
I know you feel the same way about Sedona... another absolutely amazing area.
Hello Carol, Interesting and thanks for the information, I learn so much here in the rain daily.

Hi Will Hamm ,
Thanks so much for stopping in to learn more about my town. Have a great week.
Oh, what an awesome video, Carol! No wonder you've remained there for 47 years. What spectacular footage and I love the plane they used - how cool tothat they used two planes (or a plane and a helicopter) to film the other one flying across the beautiful countryside.
Good morning Debe Maxwell, CRS ,
It is pretty countryside, that's for sure... and we have quite an interesting history. Thanks so much for stopping by to learn about where I call home. Watch for Part II this Sunday.
So wonderful to find a place you love to call home. Sounds like you are very happy and I'm very happy for you!
I have not lived anywhere for 47 years, wow, Carol. This is a commitment. But the Cascades are beautiful, and the snow enticing (as long as I'm not trampling in it). Some people are snow people and some people are not. But I'd visit in the summer. :)
I think I’ve heard this one before and It’s a great place to start and journey to where you want to be
Hi Carol
That was wonderful to watch...and I did from start to finish. I can see why you feel the way you do. I cannot imagine being in one community for 47 years, we enjoyed greater Boston for about 20 years in 6 houses and communities!
Thank you for sharing this well-done video!
Jeff
